Meet The Dentists
Dr. Kathleen Gilmore
Dr. Kathleen Gilmore was born in Newark, NJ. She entered into dentistry over 30 years ago as a dental assistant while a junior in High School. At that time she developed a desire to help and educate people on the importance of their oral health.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Rutgers University and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from UMDNJ. She fulfilled a year long dental internship at Morristown Memorial Hospital, receiving a residency diploma from Columbia University. Dr. Gilmore is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA), Essex County Dental Society (ECDS) and Western Essex Dental Association (WEDA)
Dr. Gilmore partnered with her husband at his dental practice in 1999. In 2004, she achieved her dream of opening a state of the art dental office in Newark built from the ground up.
Dr. Gilmore and Dr. Vallejo took on a new project in 2012, renovating a home/office built in 1885 in Bloomfield.
Dr. Gilmore is practicing general dentistry at this location since November 2014. She is excited for both new and current patients to be a part of this endeavor.
Dr. Gilmore's core values & tenacious attention to detail allow her to deliver fine dentistry in an honest and reliable fashion. Her devotion to service others inspires her to consistently apply herself to a continuum of learning, taking educational courses involving all aspects of dentistry and general health. She is also currently learning to speak Portuguese!
She has been blessed to reach out to those less fortunate by performing charity dental treatment in both the US and abroad, in the jungle of Peru and the city of Curitiba in Brazil.
Dr. Gilmore is an exercise enthusiast enjoying running, biking, and yoga. Cooking is a passion she takes joy in sharing with her family and friends. As a mother of 2, she enjoys spending time with her daughters.
Dr. Jorge Vallejo
Dr. Jorge E. Vallejo was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States in search of the American dream. He studied at Seton Hall Prep and continued on to Rutgers University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. He achieved his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at UMDNJ and completed his 1-year residency at the East Orange VA Hospital. Dr. Vallejo also completed the Minichetti Residency Implant program and studied orthodontics at the US Dental Institute. He speaks English, Spanish and some Portuguese. Dr. Vallejo is a member of the following associations:

Dr. Vallejo enjoys charity missions and traveling to Brazil, Portugal, Ecuador, and Italy.
He has been blessed with a wife (Dr. Kathleen Gilmore) and 2 children. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports including soccer, tennis, basketball and chess.
